An Example of How To Filter Used Vegetable Oil For Fuel
There are many ways to filter used vegetable oil. The most popular is to use clear braided tubing, a Goldenrod or standard water filter housing with filters in the 10-40 micron range (depending on the type of oil you're collecting) along with a reliable pump that is suited for vegetable oil.
You'll want to carry an extra battery to power your 'mobile' collection and filtering station along with a barrel or other storage container for your oil. Having additional filters along with basic tools and extra supplies saves driving time and helps make the collection and filtering process smooth.
Instead of filtering the oil on the spot, you can also just collect it and then filter it at your location. It's more efficient to filter it on the spot since you'll be using a pump to collect the oil, so filtering at the same time makes it a more efficient process if you can do it.
