What Is WVO - Waste Vegetable Oil Fuel?

What is waste vegetable oil, or WVO?

Basically, waste vegetable oil is vegetable oil that has been used for cooking or frying food and is what's left over.

Restaurants and factories that make food using vegetable oil normally have to pay a company to remove the used oil since it's illegal to dump used, waste vegetable oil down the drain or in a sewer. Often, an offer from someone to remove the waste vegetable oil for free is a much more cost effective alternative than paying to have it removed.

One of the best uses, both economically and financially, for waste vegetable oil is using it as a substitute for diesel fuel in diesel engine cars and trucks. It burns cleaner effectively eliminating or drastically reducing emissions, and since it can replace diesel fuel, it's more economical to use waste vegetable oil because of the lower cost to use it.

Diesel engines were originally made to run on vegetable oils, and the best vehicle options for running on vegetable oil are often older model cars and trucks. Many favorites include Mercedes Benz, Volkswagon (VW), Isuzu and Mitsubishi.
